Alligator Alley

Monster

If you haven't heard it, take all precautions necessary (securing any loose objects in the vicinity, warning neighbors to ignore shouts of glee or vibrating walls, etc.) and click on this bad boy. This is a great AUD source and should be in everyone's collection.

$9 for a show of this magnitude. If I had been at this one I may have insisted on paying more on the way out.

Don't you think any concert ticket price should be based on the performance itself? When you enter the show you sign an agreement to pay an amount no greater than the advertised ticket price at the end of the show, but when the show is over the crowd will be surveyed to determine a quality-based price to be paid by everyone, just in case it sucks. God knows I've been to a few shows by various artists that they should have paid me to attend.

Being a University of Kentucky fan, I usually disdain anything to do with the Gators and UF. Add the Grateful Dead to Alligator Alley (Florida's old gym) and now I'm a fan all things Gator related on 11/29/80

This is really a seething 6 headed beast of a show. Listening to it right now. The general template of this show was common for that time frame (AG>PL opener and Shakedown 2nd Set [see Cleveland 11/29 show]; but everything at this show is hittin; boys playing w/ vigor.

Dire, your in my thoughts; be strong. When we stare into the abyss what we sometimes find is the part part of ourselves staring back at us. May the four winds dew their thing.

Hey now AG416,
well the cats aren't doing too well quite yet. We all have big hopes for Gillespie, but the team is young. Time will tell.
Also - my friend the Captain is doing a special Hendrix tribute show on WRFL this Saturday from 8-10 PM.
Tune in via the net if you can!!

Thanks for pointing that out. I guess I was too busy trying to clean up the remains of my old chair to actually rate this one. Off the charts. No chair is safe. I'm thinking it might be best to use a bean-bag chair as it would be better able to absorb the associated vibrations.

PS. The Darkstar from 2/24/74 is melting my brain. Keith is having one of his best nights on this one. Thanks again for the recommendation.

Ah, so this show has received the rare "kindling maker" status. Useful to know for those cold nights when you want to light a fire in the fireplace but forgot to split the logs.

when it drops down into the 60s.

Seriously Wayne, I am still amused to see people wear winter coats and gloves on days when its in the high 50s.

Damn, I knew I forgot to warn you about something. Perhaps I should also include a Depends Scale rating for shows.

Damn it SDH; seeing all of you boys enjoying a show communally like this really makes me think I have to go out and recruit an army of early era fans to share with...

Or change my eras, buy some big boy pants and find the old bean bag chair (haven't had one for years!), and light up with you all!

I'm very pleased to be able to back up SDH on this one. The heavy, heavy monster sound of Alligator Alley should roar from your speakers and into your grateful brain at the earliest opportunity. You won't sit for Shakedown! Whoo!

Hmmmmmm, something about a Scot saying "I'm very pleased to be able to back you up" makes me real nervous. You'll pardon me if I ask you to stay where I can see you.

But seriously, this is one of the better shows from the early 80's and should not be missed. The louder the better.

Don;'t know about backing up anything any more - I think I'm floating somewhere high above at the moment. This Estimated is just freaking unreal. Someone help me find that portion of my soul that just headed into outer space...?

Sorry fellers, currently stuck in the psychedelic vibes of 66. I think perhaps, though, you may have convinced me to que up 80 for next.
